Fly Fishing Photo Gallery 2008. Grayling, Brown Trout, Fly Fishers

Fishing pictures. Photo gallery from Gjerfloen Flyfishing, Norway. Fly fishers and fishermen, photos of grayling, brown trout, arctic char, whitefish, pike and other "shots" of interest. (English only)

Erik Eikre

As fishing guide and riverkeeper I spend a lot of time by the riverside and the camara is always with me. I therefore have many opportunities to take good "shots" of fishing situations, fishermen, catches and nature from and around the Gjerfloen fly zone area.

The photo gallery page will contain updated pictures of fishermen and catches from Gjerfloen Flyfishing and other pictures of interest from Trysil.

Musling

This kind of mussle is very rare in the Trysil river, but there are a few and they can be up to 300 years old! Please let them live and don't take them out of the water. This one was found here in 2002. If you find one of them, please report to me.

Pink Panther

Pink Panther is a new creation from my fly tying vise. This nymph has proved to be of great interest for the graylings in this river. The nymph can be used in different sizes, more or less weighted or not weighted at all. More experiments will show if this colour/material combination also might work well in a Klinkhammer dry fly body.

Hook: Knapek shrimp barbless. Body: Backpart; Siman ice dubbing, 18 uv pink. Middle; Oracle Holographic dubbing, fuchsia. Front; Siman ice dubbing, 02 uv brown. Back; Siman magic shrimp foil, white. Rib; Stroft 0,10.

November 2008

Gjerfloen Flyfishing has for a long time been planning restauring initiative to improve the conditions for the fish at Gjerflokoia and Halvorsøya. Finally the plans were recognized by the authoroties and the plans could be carried through! The biggest rocks are brought back into the river and the canals between the islands and the bank are opened up again.

Rocks more than 3 tonns were no problem for the big excavator!

Gjerfloen Flyfishing was the location for the premier trip! Next season we hope that many fishermen will find this way of guided fishing comfortable and interesting.

Dieter Benenowski, Germany, with one of the 61 graylings he landed during his stay. This one was tempted by a grey/olive green gold head nymph. Half an hour later he landed a 47 cms grayling, but then the photographer (Benjamin Benenowski) was occupied with me while I was landing a 40 cms grayling 100 metres downstream
