During the 2017 season 417 fishing licenses were sold (2016: 633) and 3183 fishes were reported on Gjerfloen Flyfishing (2016: 4009). 5 graylings + 50 cms are reported. The number of +40 cms graylings was all times high this season.

With October came the rain again. High water and difficult fishing most of the time. Only 33 licenses were sold so the catces per day were in fact very good.

Harry van der Linden and Gerhard van der Westen (Holland) visitied Gjerfloen Flyfishing this week. They landed 2 brown trouts and 147 graylings. Mainly super pupa presented as wet fly.

02.10. Water flow up to 72 m3/s this morning, Watertemp 9 C degrees. Rain last night last night and today will bring the waterflow up again, and the fishing conditions will be worse again for some days.

Norwegian Cup Fly Fishing was arranged on the fly zone this week end. 16 competitors landed 574 fishes. Average size was 29,57 cm. Winner was Terje Haugen Lie (70 fishes).

Norwegian Cup Flyfishing is arranged in the fly zone this week end. During the first session yesterday (3 hours) Terje Haugen landed 29 graylings. There were others who also had around 15 fishes during the first one and a half hours. They go on today and results will come.

September was a bit up and down, but altogether good. We had periods with very good fishermen and the number of +40 cms graylings was remarkable. 100 licesnes were sold and the catces per day were absolutely acceptaple.

5 fishermen from Poland, Sebastian Zak, Rafal Kania, Krzysztof Dumana, Krzysztof Zoladz and Jacek Olesiak landed 214 graylings from 6th (Wednesday) to 8th (Friday) under difficult conditions. 33 of the graylings were +40 cms. 2 of the were +45 cms. August was difficult for most of the fishermen. High water most of the time and only 34 day licenses were sold. However, our guide, Kenneth, had very good fishing also in August and landed alone 203 of the total 270 reported caches this month. 70 of his graylings were +40 cms.

June started with rain and cold weather and the hatching of insects bagan 10 days later than normal. In the last part of June we have had some really nice days with good catches. 20 graylings are reported to be +45 cms and 3 of them +50 cms. 103 day liceneses are sold. Catches per day 5,4.

Uwe Renzelmann (Germany) landed 27 graylings Wednesday and Thursday. All with dry fly (sedges).

29.06 Water flow down to 91 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 14 C degrees. Yesterday was the first "normal" summer day for a week, and the graylings responded. Jan Berndtsson (Sweden) landed 22 graylings yesterday, Griffits Gnat. Massive rising activity at 10 PM.

Sebastian Zak, Janus Makuch and Mariusl Mezyk (Poland) landed 65 graylings and 1 brown trout yesterday. 26 of them were +40 cms and 1 was +50 cm.

25.06 Rain yesterday brought the water flow up to 103 m3/s this morning. Watertemp 14 C degrees. Many parts of the river are now wadeable and fishing conditions are improving. Periods with high rising activit. Two 50 cms graylings landed yesterday.

A few danicas have been observed, I expect they will turn up in larger numbers the next days. No rain and good weather for fishing predicted next week. The water flow is close to normal for the time being so flyfishermen.... be ready for take off!
