Gjerfloen Flyfishing, Norway. Updated information bout fishing conditions on the fly fishing zone, water level and water temperature in the Trysil river.

During the 2020 season 233 fishing licenses were sold (2019: 448) and 1626 fishes were reported on Gjerfloen Flyfishing (2019: 2035). 1 grayling + 50 cms is reported. This season was influenced by corona restrictions, and we had very few fishermen from Sweden. In September and October we had some very good Norwegian fishermen here and the average catch per day was significantly up.

Norwegian Cup Flyfishing was arranged on Gjerfloen fly zone this week end. Winner was Erlend Vivelid Nilsen (picture) with 55 graylings. 17 competitors landed all together 488 graylings.

June started with high water, but in the last part of June fishing conditions were quite good and there were periods with massive hatching. Because of the corona restrictions, very few fishermen visited Gjerfloen in June this year. Only 20 licenses were sold (119 in June 2019) and reported catches: 37 (301 in June last year). Average catch per day 1,9

30.06. Water flow 100 m3/s this morning. The flow is now on the way down again. Normal water flow this time of the season is 95 m3/s. Fishing conditions arer OK.

Chris Hendrix landed 14 graylings and 1 brown trout during 2,5 fishing hours yesterday. All with nymphs.

During the 2019 season 448 fishing licenses were sold (2018: 447) and 2035 fishes were reported on Gjerfloen Flyfishing (2018: 3720). 1 grayling + 50 cms is reported. This season has been not so good. June in special, and July produced much lower than normal. August was better than avarage.

June started with high water, but in the last part of June fishing conditions were quite good and there were periods with massive hatching. Because of the corona restrictions, very few fishermen visited Gjerfloen in June this year. Only 20 licenses were sold (119 in June 2019) and reported catches: 37 (301 in June last year). Average catch per day 1,9

30.06. Water flow 100 m3/s this morning. The flow is now on the way down again. Normal water flow this time of the season is 95 m3/s. Fishing conditions arer OK.

Chris Hendrix landed 14 graylings and 1 brown trout during 2,5 fishing hours yesterday. All with nymphs.

29.06. Rain yesterday and last night brought the water flow up to 99 m3/s this morning.

During the 2019 season 448 fishing licenses were sold (2018: 447) and 2035 fishes were reported on Gjerfloen Flyfishing (2018: 3720). 1 grayling + 50 cms is reported. This season has been not so good. June in special, and July produced much lower than normal. August was better than avarage.
