Fly fishing the first 4 months this summer was not so good. Rain and cold weather had a bad impact on the fishing conditions. When the fishing conditions are difficult, the bigger graylings are hard to catch. However, October this year was very good. Very little rain and good temperature made the fishing conditions outstanding and the catches were extraordinary for those who made things right. 570 day licenses were sold.

13.07. Back again after a week in the north west (Surnadal), fishing for salmon and sea trout. After much rain here last week, the water flow is down again to 99 m3/s this morning. Water temp 16 C degrees. 14 Frenchmen (group Didier Ciret) were fishing on the fly zone 4th and 5th of July. They landed 63 fishes all sizes. 14 graylings were between 40 and 44 cms, 3 were between 45 and 49 cms and one were + 50 cms! Still a bit higher water than normal for the time being, but fishing conditions are OK. Today there are fishermen from Denmark, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and Germany on the Fly zone.

05.07. The water flow is down to 101 m3/s this morning. Water temp 16 C degrees. 14 Frenchmen are fishing on the fly zone today and tomorrow.

04.07. The water flow is down to 102 m3/s this morning. Water temp 16 C degrees. Team Jan Holmgren, Malmø Sweden, landed 64 graylings last week. All sizes.

03.07. The water flow is down to 105 m3/s this morning. Water temp 15 C degrees. Nils-Eric Branstedt, Karlstad Sweden, landed 10 graylings on the upper part of the fly zone yesterday evening. All with dry fly, 2 of them +40 cms.

02.07. The water flow is down to 109 m3/s this morning. Water temp up to 15 C degrees. Roger Öst, Malung, Sweden, landed 8 graylings yesterday with a weighted green Superpupa, "hatcher". A group of 7 Italians had OK fishing yesterday. Catch reports not yet received, but Marco had landed 10 graylings when I met him in the afternoon, and they went on fishing after that. Another group of 3 Swedes caught nothing.

01.07. The water flow is down to 114 m3/s this morning. Water temp 13 C degrees. The water flow is slowly down the last couple of days. Warmer weather has generated snowmelting in the mountains up north. A lot of different "fish food" were hatching yesterday, but the Danica is still hiding on the bottom! In spite of periods with high rising activity the graylings are hard to catch at the moment.

150 day licenses (2014: 170) and average catch per day was 2,0 (2014: 3,9). I still miss many catch reports, so the total catch is a bit higher. However, the cold weather and high water in June made the fishing difficult most of the time. 2 graylings were between 45 and 49 cms. Total Catches: 301 (2014: 700)

30.06. The water flow is down to 117 m3/s this morning. Water temp 13 C degrees. On some places the fishing conditions are good even if the water flow is 25% over normal for the time being. Periods with high activity over and in the water during the day and last evening. The fishing has been and still is a bit tricky. Nobody has so far really solved the codes, right fly, right presentation..... Sooner or later there must come a fisherman who by luck or skill find the right way...

29.06. The water flow is down to 119 m3/s this morning. Water temp 13 C degrees. High activity over and in the water also yesterday evening. Maurice Beaumf, France, landed 3 graylings yesterday. 1 between 40 and 44 cms and 1 between 45 and 49 cms.

28.06. The water flow is down to 124 m3/s this morning. Water temp up to 13 C degrees. Enormous insect activity on the upper part of the fly zone yesterday between 9 and 10 PM. In the light from the low sun I could see millions og "flying objects" over the water. Sedges, different may flies, mosquitos ++. Not so much rising activity at that time, but the sea gulls had a great party. 13 fishermen on the fly zone yesterday. Team Magnus Böhm, Totebo Sweden, (5 catch reports) landed 100 graylings and 1 brown trout from Thursday to Saturday. 37 were +35 cms and 7 were +40 cms.

27.06. The water flow is down to 129 m3/s this morning. Water temp 12 C degrees. Periods with high rising activity yesterday. 20 fishermen on the fly zone yesterday, but nobody really solved the code. Large numbers of Sulphurea, but the Danica hatching has not yet kicked off.

26.06. The water flow is 133 m3/s this morning. Water temp 12 C degrees. A lot of Sulphurea in the air yesterday afternoon. Periods og high rising activity. 17 fishermen on the fly zone yesterday and some of them had very good fishing in periods.

24.06. The water flow is 129 m3/s also this morning. Water temp 12 C degrees. The DANICA is observed, - only small numbers so far. We need warmer weather....

23.06. The water flow is down to 129 m3/s this morning. Water temp 12 C degrees. Some rising activity and best fishing before noon yesterday. High activity during a rain shower in the afternoon. 12 fishermen on the fly zone yesterday, Switzerland, Germany and Sweden.

20.06. The water flow is down to 141 m3/s this morning. Water temp 12 C degrees. The river is now wadeable many places. We have so far neither seen the Sulphurea nor the Danica. The air temperature began to go up yesterday, so I have a feeling that there might be a "hatching explosion" this week end.

19.06. The water flow is down to 147 m3/s this morning. Water temp 12 C degrees. From today the weather forecast says warmer weather. Let's hope that not only the fishermen, but also the may flies like that.

17.06. The water flow is down to 161 m3/s this morning. Water temp 11 C degrees. Two German fishermen had good fishing with dry fly yesterday. The Sulphurea and Danica have not yet popped up.

09.06. The water flow is down to 227m3/s this morning. Water temp 8 C degrees. The first rings on the water from the rising graylings are observed! So, even if the water is high and cold, and the air temp last night was minus 2 C degrees, I'll make Chuck Berry's words to mine: Go Johnny go, go...

08.06. The water flow is down again to 242 m3/s this morning. Water temp 8 C degrees

07.06. The water flow is up again to 248 m3/s this morning. Water temp 8 C degrees
